DS18 HYDRO NXL-X8TP

8" Marine Water-Resistant Wakeboard Tower Speakers with Integrated RGB LED Lights

DS18’s NXL-X8TP’s are built to blast through wind, water, and trail noise with clarity and confidence. These full-range 8" tower speakers deliver rich, immersive sound in a rugged, marine-grade housing.

Full-Range Setup
Each speaker features a 4-ohm impedance, 1.2" woofer voice coil, and 1" PEI tweeter, driven by a hybrid Ferrite + Neodymium magnet structure. You get strong mids, crisp highs, and smooth frequency response from 55Hz–23kHz—perfect for full-range projection in any outdoor setup.

360° Adjustable Clamp System
Designed to fit bars from 1” to 2”, these die-cast aluminum clamps allow full 360-degree rotation, letting you aim your sound exactly where it’s needed. Quick to mount, built to stay locked in.
Need a larger fitment? Pair it with the optional CLPX2T3 Clamp Adaptor to mount on towers from 2.25” to 3”—perfect for larger marine or powersport builds.
No tubular mount points? No problem. For flat surface installations, pair it with DS18’s FLMBPX flat mount bracket for a rock-solid install with vertical positioning and secure fitment—ideal for jet skis, decks, or roof panels.

Marine-Grade Protection
UV-compliant, IP65 water-resistant, and ready to handle the harshest environments—spray, salt, sand, and trail dust are no match for this tower setup.

Integrated RGB LED Lighting
Show off your sound with built-in RGB illumination behind the cone and DS18 logo. Unlock full lighting control with DS18’s LED-BTC controller and the DS18 LED-BTC App on iOS or Android. Change colors, flash patterns, brightness, or sync to the beat—right from your phone.

4 Killer Finishes
Match your build’s style with four bold color options: Black, White, Red, and Carbon Fiber.

DS18’s NXL-X8TP is the go-to choice for marine and powersports audio.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

RMS vs. MAX power — which number do I actually care about?

RMS is what your gear handles continuously; MAX is the short burst it can survive without complaint. Match your amplifier's RMS output to your speakers' RMS rating — sizing off the MAX number is how magic smoke gets released.

What does the IP65 rating on DS18 marine gear actually mean?

It's dust-tight and rated against low-pressure water jets from any direction — built for spray, rain, and the occasional wave over the bow, not for full submersion. If something's going somewhere it could sit underwater, that's a different conversation entirely.

How do I match an amplifier to my speakers without guessing?

Add up the RMS rating of everything the amp will power, and pick an amp whose RMS output (at your speakers' impedance — usually 4-ohm) lands close to that total. Undersized is thin sound; wildly oversized is a fast way to blow a voice coil.

Can I mix marine-grade gear into a standard car audio setup, or the reverse?

You can run marine-grade gear in a car — it's just over-built for that environment, no downside besides cost. Running non-weatherproof car audio gear in an open UTV or boat is the direction that causes problems.

What gauge wiring kit do I need?

It scales with your amp's power draw and the length of the run — DS18's OFC kits come in 4-gauge and 8-gauge for a reason. Undersized wiring on a high-draw system is a voltage-drop and heat problem waiting to happen; when in doubt, size up.
