Product Overview

6.5” Hybrid Slim Loudspeaker With 1” Compression Driver Horn

The PRO-HY6MSL brings full-range power to tight installs. We’ve given you the best of both worlds: a high-output midrange AND compression driver, packed into a water-resistant, off-road–ready design that fits where others can’t.

HYBRID DESIGN FOR FULL-RANGE SOUND
This speaker pairs a treated cloth surround + water-resistant paper cone midrange with a titanium compression driver for powerful highs and rich mid clarity. Rated at 150W RMS with a 100Hz–20kHz response range, you get high SPL output across a wide bandwidth.

SHALLOW MOUNT. BIG SOUND.
With a mounting depth of only 2.82”, the PRO-HY6MSL is perfect for motorcycles, UTVs, SXS, Slingshots, and Jeep pods. It fits in tight panels and fairings while still delivering 97dB sensitivity for serious volume at any power level.

IP65 WATER-RESISTANT + SUN PROTECTED
The PRO-HY6MSL features upgraded treated cloth surrounds and a water-resistant cone. The included grille now has a sun- and water-protective cloth backing, and the entire speaker is IP65 rated to withstand anything you run into on- or off-road

NEODYMIUM DRIVER + 3” HORN FOR MAX OUTPUT
Inside the 1” titanium compression driver is a neodymium motor, giving you fast, accurate highs in a compact form. The 3” horn helps project sound clearly through wind and road noise so your music cuts through—on the move or at full throttle.

COMPATIBILITY FOR EASY SYSTEM MATCHING
With a 2,4, or 8Ω impedance, the PRO-HY6MSL is easy to pair with aftermarket amps and crossovers. Upgrading your factory pods or building a custom system? It’s ready to get loud!

The PRO-HY6MSL is slim enough to fit anywhere, loud enough to lead, and built tough enough to survive your wildest rides.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

RMS vs. MAX power — which number do I actually care about?

RMS is what your gear handles continuously; MAX is the short burst it can survive without complaint. Match your amplifier's RMS output to your speakers' RMS rating — sizing off the MAX number is how magic smoke gets released.

What does the IP65 rating on DS18 marine gear actually mean?

It's dust-tight and rated against low-pressure water jets from any direction — built for spray, rain, and the occasional wave over the bow, not for full submersion. If something's going somewhere it could sit underwater, that's a different conversation entirely.

How do I match an amplifier to my speakers without guessing?

Add up the RMS rating of everything the amp will power, and pick an amp whose RMS output (at your speakers' impedance — usually 4-ohm) lands close to that total. Undersized is thin sound; wildly oversized is a fast way to blow a voice coil.

Can I mix marine-grade gear into a standard car audio setup, or the reverse?

You can run marine-grade gear in a car — it's just over-built for that environment, no downside besides cost. Running non-weatherproof car audio gear in an open UTV or boat is the direction that causes problems.

What gauge wiring kit do I need?

It scales with your amp's power draw and the length of the run — DS18's OFC kits come in 4-gauge and 8-gauge for a reason. Undersized wiring on a high-draw system is a voltage-drop and heat problem waiting to happen; when in doubt, size up.
